A prestigious award ceremony was held on May 31st in the premises of the Regional Youth Information Centre Osijek. "U.S. Council on Social Work Education Award 2009" presented PRONI Centre for Social Education from Osijek with the best international partner organization in the field of implementation of social education in practice award, as known as «2009 Partners in Advancing Education for International (PIE) Social Work Award." PRONI Centre was nominated for this award by Indiana University (United States) at the end of 2009.

This prestigious award is about successful projects and initiatives in the world and promoting the best individuals, teams, programs and organizations, whose contribution to the world, including the Republic of Croatia, provides support to community development, promoting social values and using in their work methods of social education. The prize is awarded since 2003 in the form of annual awards.
The award was personally presented by Dr. Julia M. Watkins, Executive Director of the Council on Social Work Education - CSWE and world-known scientist in the field of social work and educational psychology.
Council on Social Work Education is a nonprofit national association representing more than 3000 individual members and graduate and postgraduate educational programs on social work. It is founded in 1952 and is a partnership of educational and professional institutions and organizations working for the welfare of society and citizens, recognized by the Accreditation Board for Higher Education as the sole Accreditation agency for social work education in America.
